Sales Return by Division, Invoice, and Product
Product detail of every return note, with the original sales invoice. For tracing one return or matching it to a refund.
Questions It Answers
- Which return notes were made on a given date, and from which invoices?
- What is on return X and what is it worth?
- What is the total return per division this month?
Filters
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Transaction Date | Date range of the returns. Empty means the whole history - slow on years of data, so always fill it. |
| Division | Pre-filled from the user role's default division. A role locked to one division cannot change it. |
| Department | Limits to one department (warehouse/outlet) inside the division; pre-filled from the role default when set. |
| Product Code | One product only - handy for tracing the history of a single item. |
| Customer | One customer only. A role locked to a specific customer gets it pre-filled and read-only. |
| Sales Representative | One sales rep only; pre-filled from the role's default when set. |
| Serial Number | Match a serial number exactly (=) or partially (like). Only meaningful when the company uses serial numbers. |
How To Read It
Nested result: Division > Return note (original sales invoice, customer, rep, date, return total) > product rows. No Profit column.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Quantity, Unit | Quantity returned, in the unit written on the return note. |
| Gross | Price x quantity before line discount. |
| Discount | Discount per product line. Invoice-level discount (at the foot of the invoice) is not here. |
| Net | Gross - Discount. |
| Tax, Extra Tax | Line VAT, and any extra tax (e.g. restaurant tax) computed per product. |
| Subtotal | Net + Tax + Extra Tax. |
| Serial Number, Expiration Date | Shown only when the company uses product serial numbers/expiry; otherwise the columns are absent. |
Source: approved Sales Return notes (when the approval workflow is on). Figures are positive; subtract them from the sales reports yourself for net sales.
Why The Numbers May Differ
- The number shown in the header is the original sales invoice; the return note number itself is in the Sales Return form list.
- Documents still waiting for approval are not counted. If the approval workflow is on and the figures look low, check the Approval Queue.
- Quantities are not converted between units: a product sold in boxes and in pieces shows as separate rows with their own quantities.
