Purchase Analysis by Product
For each purchase invoice: what happened to the products bought during that period - in from purchases, out to sales, returns, other movements, and the net. Answers "did the goods we bought actually sell".
Questions It Answers
- How much of the goods on purchase invoice X has sold?
- What is left of the products bought from a given supplier last month?
- Was this purchase too large compared with its sales?
Filters
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Transaction Date | Date range of purchase invoices - and at the same time the range of stock movements counted. |
| Division | Pre-filled from the user role's default division. A role locked to one division cannot change it. |
| Supplier Code | The supplier on the purchase invoice. |
| Purchase Invoice | A single invoice number. |
| Product Code | One product only - handy for tracing the history of a single item. |
How To Read It
One block per purchase invoice (number, supplier, date), then a row per product on that invoice with that product's stock movements during the filter period - not just from that invoice.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Purchase, Purchase Return | Quantity in from all purchases and out to purchase returns in the period. |
| Sales, Sales Return | Quantity out to all sales and in from sales returns in the period. |
| Others | Other movements (adjustments, transfers, production), net in - out. |
| Balance | Sum of those columns: net stock change over the period. |
Why The Numbers May Differ
- The movement columns count all of that product's movements across every division and warehouse in the period - not only goods from the invoice being read. The same product on two invoices shows the same movement figures.
- Balance is the change over the period, not ending stock; ending stock is in the inventory reports.
- Quantities are in the base unit.
- Documents still waiting for approval are not counted. If the approval workflow is on and the figures look low, check the Approval Queue.
