Product Inventory (without Serial Number and COGS)
Inventory balance per division and department as of a date, merged per product, without serial numbers or value. The leanest and fastest stock report.
Questions It Answers
- How much of product X is in each warehouse today?
- Which products are negative or sold out in a given department?
- Which products have had no stock-in for a long time?
Filters
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Transaction Date | Stock position as of a date (up to and including). Empty means today. |
| Division | Pre-filled from the user role's default division. A role locked to one division cannot change it. |
| Department | Limits to one department (warehouse/outlet) inside the division; pre-filled from the role default when set. |
| Product Group | One group from the Product Group master. |
| Product Code | One product only - handy for tracing the history of a single item. |
| Inventory Balance | Filter by balance: > 0 hides empty products, < 0 finds negative stock, = 0 finds sold-out items. |
| Product Name | Search by name - partial (like) or exact (=). |
| Sorted by | Product code (default) or another available column. |
How To Read It
Nested result: Division > Department > product rows.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Product Code, Product Name | Products with movement in that department. |
| Inventory Age | Inventory Age = days since the last stock-in of that product in that department up to the filter date. Items constantly re-bought always look young even if old stock has not moved. |
| Balance, Unit | Stock as of the filter date; the unit shown is the product's base unit that applies to that division/department; balances are in the base unit. |
The four balance reports on this menu differ only in columns: Product Inventory (serial numbers + COGS), without COGS (serial numbers, no value), without Serial Number (merged per product, with COGS and value), without Serial Number and COGS (merged per product, no value). Pick the leanest that fits - the valued ones are much slower because they look up COGS per row.
Why The Numbers May Differ
- Products that never had movement in that department are not shown, even if they exist in the master.
- For inventory value, use a variant that includes COGS.
- Global Product Inventory shows the same balances summed across departments.
- Only movements already on the stock card count; inventory documents not yet approved or posted are not on the stock card.
