Accounts Receivable Adjustment
List of Receivable Adjustment documents: receivables written off, reduced, or increased outside of payments. For audit: why a receivable changed without money coming in.
Questions It Answers
- How much receivable was written off this month, and for whom?
- Which adjustment types are used most (rounding differences, deductions, penalties)?
- Which invoices had their balance changed by adjustment rather than payment?
Filters
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Transaction Date | Date range of the adjustments. Empty means the whole history - slow on years of data, so always fill it. |
| Customer | One customer only. A role locked to a specific customer gets it pre-filled and read-only. |
| Division | Pre-filled from the user role's default division. A role locked to one division cannot change it. |
| Adjustment Type | From the Sales Expenses master - e.g. deduction, penalty, or difference. |
How To Read It
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Invoice | Number of the Receivable Adjustment document. |
| Debit | Increases the customer's receivable (e.g. a late penalty). |
| Credit | Decreases it (deduction, write-off). |
| Adjustment Type | The chosen type; it determines the journal account. |
| Reference | The sales invoice adjusted, from the document detail. |
Why The Numbers May Differ
- A settlement discount given during Receivable Collection is not an adjustment - it sits in the collection detail.
- This report does not filter on approval status; documents still waiting are listed.
- In Customer History an adjustment row shows its type name, not the word "adjustment".
