All Projects Summary
One row per project: contract value, gross profit, expenses, tax, net profit, margin, then physical progress next to cost absorption. The report for comparing projects against each other.
Questions It Answers
- Which project has the thinnest margin?
- Which project has absorbed far more cost than the work it has finished?
- What is the profit of all projects running this year?
Filters
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Project Group | Limits to one project group; only groups marked active appear in the list. |
| Project | One project. Empty means all projects - finished and cancelled ones included. |
| Start Date | Range of project start dates. Empty means all projects, those with no start date included. |
How To Read It
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Project | Code and name; internal projects are marked (internal). |
| Contract Value | From the Project master. |
| Gross Profit | Revenue minus cost of goods according to that project’s ledger. |
| Operating Expenses, Other Income/Expense, Tax | The remaining profit and loss parts, from the same project accounts. |
| Net Profit | All profit and loss parts summed - the same figure as the bottom line of the Project Income Statement. |
| Margin % | Net Profit divided by Contract Value. Blank for internal projects, which have no revenue by design. |
| Physical Progress % | From WBS task weights and progress. |
| Not Yet Expensed | Project material and prepaid cost that has not become cost yet. |
| Cost Absorbed % | Total Committed (actual + not yet expensed) divided by total budget. |
The last two columns Physical Progress and Cost Absorbed sit side by side on purpose: a wide gap between them is the earliest warning a project can give - and it only appears when WBS weights and the budget are genuinely filled.
Why The Numbers May Differ
- Every project status appears here - Planned, Running, On Hold, Finished, and Cancelled. The Project Dashboard shows only Running ones.
- Margin uses Contract Value, not the revenue already billed. A project not yet fully billed will look thin on margin - that is deliberate, because the comparison is the contract.
- Net Profit here excludes Not Yet Expensed, because material still in the warehouse is genuinely not cost yet. The absorption column is the one that includes it.
- A project with no project-tagged journal at all shows zero across the profit columns - check whether its documents carry the project.
