Production Order
Production order detail: the product made, material components needed with their COGS, and work operations with labour cost and duration. The report for costing a production order.
Questions It Answers
- What are the material and labour costs of production order X?
- Which components are needed to produce this product?
- How long do the work operations of an order take in total?
Filters
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Production Order | One order number. |
| Status | Production Order, Ready for Production, In Production, Release Product, or Done. |
| Order Date | Date range in which the production order was created. |
| Start Date, Expected Completion Date, Actual Completion Date | Filter by production start, target finish, and actual finish. Empty means no filter. |
How To Read It
One block per production order (number, product, quantity ordered, order/deadline/expected dates, division, memo), then two tables:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Production Components: Code, Name, Quantity, Unit, Cost of Goods Sold, Subtotal | Materials required per the BOM when the order was made; Subtotal = quantity x component COGS. |
| Production Work Orders: Production Operation, Quantity, Unit, Labour Cost, Duration, Unit | Work steps from the Production Operation master with labour cost and duration per unit. |
| Invoice Count | How many sales orders relate to this order. |
Why The Numbers May Differ
- Components and operations are copied from the BOM when the order is created - changing the BOM later does not change existing orders.
- Component COGS is the COGS at order time, not when material is actually issued.
- This report does not filter on approval status.
