Feed Usage by Product
One row per feed product within a cycle: age and date range of use, number of days, kilograms, share of total feed, kg per head, posted kilograms, cost per kg, and its cost.
When This Report Is Used
- When you want to know where the feed cost actually went.
- When comparing cost per kg between brands used in one cycle.
- When reconciling feed usage against warehouse stock cards.
How to Run It
- Fill in the required batch or house filter. Farm reports always ask for at least one, so the result does not drag in the whole history.
- Set the date range to match the question, for example one production week or a full cycle.
- Run the report, read the figures, then print or export once they look right.
How to Read the Result
- Cost is computed per day at the cost of the posting that carried it, so filtering part of a range never shows the whole posting cost.
- Rows that are partly unposted are marked, and their cost is deliberately left out rather than estimated.
- The kg per head column compares across houses far better than total kilograms.
- FCR is shown once for the whole cycle, not per feed: harvest cannot be attributed to a particular feed without an assumption nobody can prove.
Common Problems
- A feed is missing: its usage was recorded in the daily total without a product detail row.
- The cost differs sharply from the purchase price: check whether feed stock was transferred into the house division before posting.
- The result is empty: check the batch filter and date range first, then add other filters one at a time.
- Numbers disagree with another report: make sure the date range and batch selected are exactly the same.
