Farm Cost & Margin per Coop
Feed cost, other costs, total cost, harvest value, and production margin per house, backed by the journal detail of the house division.
When This Report Is Used
- When judging which house is actually profitable.
- When closing a cycle and computing cost per egg or per kilogram.
- When tracing costs that do not come from posting - medicine, labour, electricity - journalled manually to the house division.
How to Run It
- Fill in the required batch or house filter. Farm reports always ask for at least one, so the result does not drag in the whole history.
- Set the date range to match the question, for example one production week or a full cycle.
- Run the report, read the figures, then print or export once they look right.
How to Read the Result
- Feed cost and harvest value come from postings; total cost sums every expense of the house division, including manual journals.
- So the gap between total cost and feed cost is that house non-feed cost - which is usually where medicine, labour, and electricity sit.
- The journal detail underneath is the evidence, so any gap can be traced down to the account.
- The production margin here does not yet use a true per-cycle cost: harvest value uses the product average cost.
Common Problems
- Total cost far exceeds feed cost: expected when manual journals exist in the house division. Check the journal detail.
- One house costs are mixed with another: two houses share a division. This can no longer be separated once posted.
- Harvest value is empty: the harvest has not been posted, or the house simply produces nothing that enters the warehouse.
- The result is empty: check the batch filter and date range first, then add other filters one at a time.
- Numbers disagree with another report: make sure the date range and batch selected are exactly the same.
