Dividend Distribution
The Dividend Distribution report details each shareholder’s dividend entitlement from every calculation: how many shares are held, what percentage the entitlement is, and its value.
When to Use This Report
- When a Dividend Calculation result needs review before distribution.
- When a shareholder asks for the basis of their entitlement.
- When finance prepares dividend payments.
How to Use
- Fill in the date period carefully because most reports read transactions by date.
- Run the report, then check totals and details before printing or exporting.
- Save or export the result when it is needed for reconciliation or audit.
How to Read the Results
- The entitlement percentage is a time-weighted average of ownership, not just the ending balance - a holder who joined mid-period gets a smaller share.
- The paid column marks rows already withdrawn through Dividend Withdrawal.
- Sum the total dividend column to reconcile against the parent calculation value.
Common Issues
- A shareholder row is missing: their share balance was zero in that period, or their purchase is not approved.
- Values changed after recalculation: recalculating rebuilds the detail as long as nothing has been withdrawn.
