Number Counter
The last number issued per service per reset period. This is what guarantees two kiosks never print the same number.
When To Open It
- Checking why this morning's numbers did not start from the Starting Number.
- Seeing how far a service has counted today.
Columns To Watch
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Number Counter (service) | The service being counted. |
| Period Key | The date itself for daily reset, the 1st for monthly reset, 1000-01-01 for services that never reset. |
| Last Number | The last number issued in that period. |
Why It Cannot Be Edited
The counter is incremented by a single database statement when a number is taken, without locks - editing it by hand opens the door to two tickets with the same number.
This list is read-only: no add, edit, or delete buttons. Its rows are written by the kiosk and the counter screens.
