Production Operation List
The work steps attached to a product's recipe (BOM): which operation, labour cost, and duration per unit. Work orders of each production order are built from this list.
When To Use This Form
- When composing a finished product's BOM: after the material components, add the sequence of operations (cut, assemble, pack).
- When the labour rate or duration of a step changes for a given product.
- The Production Operation master (name, unit, default rate, work center) is filled first; this form picks from it.
Fields To Watch
| Field | What to watch |
|---|---|
| Product | The finished product owning the BOM; pre-filled from the open recipe. |
| Production Operation, Name, Unit | Picked from the master; name and unit come along. |
| Labour Cost | Rate per operation unit for this product - may differ from the master default. |
| Duration, Time Unit | Working time per unit and its unit (minutes/hours) from the master. |
Common Problems
- Old production orders do not change after editing this list: work orders are copied from the BOM when the order is created - deliberately, so running orders do not shift in cost.
- An operation is missing from the choices: not created in the Production Operation master, or inactive.
- Cost on the Production Order report differs from the master: the report uses the rate on this row (per product), not the master rate.
