Deals
One sales opportunity being pursued: a new account, a tender, a price contract. Not for daily orders — routine orders are just Sales Orders.
When To Use It
- When starting to pursue a new account on a lead.
- When an existing customer opens a large opportunity that needs weeks of shepherding, such as an annual contract.
- Not for recording every order — that is the Sales Order's job.
Fields Worth Attention
| Field | What to watch |
|---|---|
| Deal Name | Short and specific, e.g. "Open account Toko Maju - distributor package". |
| Stage | Where the deal stands. Changeable here or from the Pipeline Board. |
| Status | Open, Won, or Lost. It follows automatically when the stage moves to a won or lost stage. |
| Estimated Value | Applies only while the deal is open. A won deal takes its value from the Sales Order, not from this field. |
| Expected Close | When it is expected to finish. Used to order the board and to measure deal age. |
| Credit Limit, Limit Type, Term | What was agreed at the Credit Qualification stage. These values travel with the lead conversion. |
| Sales Order | Required before the deal may be marked Won. |
| Lost Reason | Required when the deal is marked Lost. It is summarised in the funnel report. |
Those last two rules are not paperwork: without them the funnel cannot be reconciled with the sales reports, and nothing can be learned from a loss.
